Thai Immigration Police Catch Gold Scammer

December 26, 2009 was declared as the National Disaster Prevention Day in rememberence of when the Boxing Day tsunami hit the South of Thailand. This year a National Disaster Prevention Day ceremony was held at the Chonkanyanukoon School in Chonburi chaired by Mr. Pornchai Kwansakul, Assistant District Officer of Chonburi.

Investigation into the on-going case against Lance Shaw - while he was based in Pattaya and operating the Hiperfinance gold scheme - has shown that all of the Royal Thai Police Immigration Bureau officers acted properly in all regards and, in fact, were responsible for the initial capture of the fugitive Lance Shaw.

Free Medical Treatment Given to Accident Victims

In what is very welcome news a conference held at city hall on announced the expected release of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Public Services of Chonburi and the various hospitals in the area announcing that all accident victims will receive free access and medical treatment at all public hospitals in the Pattaya area.

BANGKOK (AP) — Thailand's justice minister said Tuesday his office has no dispute with the police department though the ministry has accused officers of botching an investigation into a New Year's Eve fire at a Bangkok nightclub that killed 66 people.
