International education in Thailand is expected to grow by 10% a year according to the Commerce Ministry. It is expected that the number of foreign students will increase to 100,000 from 30,000 within the next five years

A group of Pattaya foreign businessmen living in Pattaya led by Barry Sullivan, Managing Director of Siam Pacific Engineering is planning an extraordinary party to raise funds for much-needed repairs to local Pattaya schools following the severe budget cuts for Pattaya City ordered by the central government. The party will be held on Sunday, August 16 at the Dale Plaza on Thappraya Road and tickets are now available.

Sanitary Department organizes Volunteer Program

The Public Health and Environmental Office in Pattaya has recently organized a program to train 150 students from private and public educational institutions as Young Sanitarians.

Rotary Club of Pattaya presents scholarship fund to deprived students

Recently the Rotary Club of Pattaya District 3340 presented scholarship funds to students, who achieve high grades. The club hands out 1,500 baht to each of the 66 needy students from all 11 schools in Pattaya, totaling 99,000 baht.

Lions Club Thailand District 310 donates Youth Encyclopedias

The International Lions Club Thailand District 310 C, visited Pattaya City Hall on June 18th, to present youth encyclopedias volume 33 to students of Chonburi Educational Service Area Zone 3 Pattaya City Mayor, Mr. Itthiphol Kunplome gave a warm welcome to the group and took possession of the general knowledge book on behalf of all students.

Hemaraj 2009 Annual Contribution to 48 Schools in Chonburi and Rayong

Hemaraj Land And Development Plc, in coordination with customers and alliances in its industrial estates, recently distributed school kits and sport equipment to over 13,000 students in 48 schools in Rayong and Chonburi provinces under its Annual School Contribution Program.

Pattaya mayor sheds light on 15 years free educational policy

Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome recently chaired the press conference of the 15 years free educational policy, which will be fully supported by the government. He said, “The government has extended the previous 12 years free educational policy to 15 years. It will cover the expenses on educational fee, textbooks, school uniforms, educational equipments, and school’s activity fee.”

Pattaya Educational Office reminds teachers on Teaching Ethics and Morality

The Pattaya Educational Office commanded all 11-school teachers to strictly comply on teaching ethics and morality. According to Mr. Twatchai Rattanyu, Director of Educational Office, and the National Education’s Human Resource Committee reiterated this policy.
