In a move to facilitate more trade, spark the sluggish economy hopefully drastically improve the importation of goods into Thailand through the port at Lam Chabang and elsewhere in Thailand, Deputy Finance Minister Pradit Pataraprasit announced on August 19 he would seek Cabinet approval to submit a new draft customs law as part of his plan to radically reform the Thai Customs Department to increase port traffic. On the 29th of Jan at 1:00 p.m. reporters discovered that the Maj. Stephen W. Pless U.S. Navy carrier ship was stationed at the Laem Chabang port in Chonburi. Mr. Peter Thorand, President of the United States Navy league took Pattaya Times reporters on board to give them a tour of the ship so the reporters could have a chance to observe the crews’ various duties onboard. | |
