Thais Travel Thailand to lead tourism recovery

A campaign known as A campaign known as Thais- Taew-Thai or Thais travel Thailand is to lead Thailand’s tourism industry out of its current crisis. It is the 16th Thai-Taew-Thai fair, feature over 750 Thai travel agents, and is being held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

Tourism bosses will encourage Thais to explore their own country as part of a new promotional drive. Chairman of the Pattaya Tourism Committee Mr. Veerasak Kowsurat said the domestic tourism plan this year would focus on domestic issues by campaigning for domestic tourists to travel.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Paris office — TAT Paris — worked together with airline partners and key travel wholesalers in France and Benelux to host a confidence building mega familiarization trip (fam trip) to Thailand in early June.

For the first time in the travel history in Asia, and probably in the world as well, as many as 11 countries have come forward together to form – TOUR ASIA GROUP (TAG).
