Students attend Pre-Military Training Course

Sattahip Naval Base recently welcomed 210 students from Ramkhamhaeng University to attend the Pre-Military Training Course in accordance with the University’s Academic Curriculum. The welcoming ceremony took place at the Sattahip Marine Command Center’s gymnasium. In addition, as part of the ceremony, a special lecture, “Current Political Situation and National Security” was delivered by Vice Admral Suvit Thararoop, Royal Thai Navy Commander.

Military and Police Officers filled up Bangkok’s Dusit District Area

Despite the cancellation of the Red Shirt rally, the Thai Cabinet recently imposed the Internal Security Act (ISA) from Saturday 29 August - Tuesday, September 1, to perform in the area of Dusit District. This was due to the plans of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) to gather up and hold a rally.

Pattaya City rents government land on Koh Larn, which is an island in Pattaya City limits, to Thais and Thai companies. However, a recent meeting was held at City Hall because the rental rates are so low they encourage speculators, which is contrary to the rental program.

Country in danger of collapse: King and Prime Minister separately call for unity

Political dissent which came to the boiling point in Pattaya in April spread to Bangkok and then nationwide resulting in a recent multi-million signature petition to His Majesty caused King Bhumibol Adulyadej, 81, to make a rare speech to an audience at his seaside palace in Hua Hin on August 21. The widely revered king warned that the country could collapse if its feuding political factions do not unite, as the government braced for fresh street protests.
