Big Surge in Chonburi Drug Arrests

There has been an increase in drug arrests from last year for the period of October 31, 2008 to September 30, 2009. 599,343 yaba tablets were seized during this period, according to Chonburi Governmor Senee Chittakasem. These represent an increase of 2,865 drug related cases; an increase of 2,869 people charged and an increase of 267,615 seized yaba tablets.

More than 100 youngsters took part in an anti-drugs sports day event – and then had to take a urine test to prove they were free of narcotics.
