Optimist Club

In August the biggest foreigner arranged Music Festival ever held in Pattaya raaised more than 1,000,000 baht to help children continue their education. The concert was held at Tappraya Road’s Chateau Dale Plaza and was organized by the Optimist International Club of Thailand and a new group known as the Pattaya Builder’s Association.

Following a million baht fundraiser led by Optimist Club of Thailand, the Pattaya Times, Siam Pacific Engineering and Swedtech/ Scandinavian Homes, with the support of more than 20 Pattaya businesses, a representative group met with Mr. Nattasetha Phosrithong, Director of Education for the 150Banglamung, Sriracha and Sattahip schools to begin a dialogue to see how the expat community can help area schoolchildren.

A group of Pattaya foreign businessmen living in Pattaya led by Barry Sullivan, Managing Director of Siam Pacific Engineering is planning an extraordinary party to raise funds for much-needed repairs to local Pattaya schools following the severe budget cuts for Pattaya City ordered by the central government. The party will be held on Sunday, August 16 at the Dale Plaza on Thappraya Road and tickets are now available.

As part of a series of donations to Thai schools by Pattaya’s private sector businesses, local civic and social clubs, Achana Snitwongse Na Ayudhaya, Managing Director of The Montien Hotel, Pattaya recently hosted a lunch for school children and donated stationery and other much needed school supplies to Wat-Nong-Poog School in Buriram Province.
