Pattaya United is aiming to be one of the top fve teams in this year’s Thai Premier League with the support of new professional players being brought in. Pattaya City is also spending 10 million baht to renovate the football stadium in Nongprue to be able to hold up to 20,000 spectators.

The Thai Premier League fever is growing day by day ever since the changes made three years ago.

Thai football is again alive and well as the Thai Premier League’s 2009 season recently came to a close. The Thai League drew big crowds across Thailand. It’s now entering a new era in Thai football history and the signs are positive for Thai football’s future.

This season is Thai Premier League’s Big Match, between Muang Thong United and Chonburi FC, was recently completed with no clear winner as the match ended in a tie. The two clubs will now have to compete in another three matches. Muang Thong has an advantage, as the remaining teams they face are not as tough as Chonburi FC. Meanwhile, another two FCs, in Chonburi, remain in a danger zone, as Pattaya United has some chance to remain viable, but Sriracha is given little chance to continue its journey on the road to champion.

The leading team in the 1st leg of Thai Premier League 2009, Chonburi FC, has started well in the second leg by winning over BEC TERO SASSANA and became the leading team in the 2nd leg table.
