Horse Urine Egg or as Thais call it ‘Kai-yiew-mha’ are also called preserved eggs, hundred-year eggs and millennium eggs. They are prepared using a Chinese cuisine ingredient which preserves duck, chicken or quail eggs in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, lime, and rice hulls for several weeks to several months, depending on the method of processing. Through the process, the yolk becomes a dark green, cream-like substance with a strong odor of sulphur and ammonia, while the white becomes a dark brown, transparent jelly with little flavor.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has stressed the government would count more on the agricultural and food processing sectors than the industrial sector for the country’s economic development.

The Ministry of Industry, in association with Pattaya City, will organize the Industrial Products Fair under the program, ‘The Ministry of Industry Meets the People.’ The fair will feature thousands of products displayed at more than 100 booths; and will take place along Pattaya Beach Road, from Mike Shopping Mall to Walking Street, October 27-November 2.

It was attended by thousands of tourists and exhibitors creating quite a buzz in the restaurant and hotel industries in Asia. The event was one of the best food and hotel industry Expos ever held in Thailand. The entire event took place at the Royal-Cliff‘s PEACH Center, in the Pratumnak Hill area August 27-29.
