New technology to be used to prevent long queues at Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Editor's Note: Travel to Pattaya Thailand is advised by the Pattaya Times newspaper and the Pattaya City Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome. This Travel Alert is being issued by the US Embassy, Bangkok, to alert U.S. citizens to difficulties related to travel in the flood-affected areas of Thailand, including Bangkok. Bangkok's main international airport, Suvarnabhumi, is operating normally. This Travel Alert will expire on February 14, 2012.

Bali Hai Pier Under New Restrictions

Mr. Sanit from the Pattaya City Council stated that previously there have been no strict rules set on boats (both transportation and tourist boats) coming in and out of the Bali Hai Pier and there have been no parking restrictions.However every boat now needs to have a tracking device fitted and boats can only be parked in allocated areas. There will now be signs indicating the parking areas regarding which boats can now be parked in Area A and which can be parked in Area B. Boats will not be allowed to enter the pier from 7pm – 5am. For those wishing to enter during these hours they must apply to Pattaya City and get approval first.
