Thailand is actively seeking all wanted foreign criminals who are in Thailand. A Japanese man who was allegedly an organised crime group leader was arrested in downtown Bangkok after feeing an arrest warrant by the Japanese police in Tokyo.

The head of Thailand Immigration Lt. General Wuthi Liptapanlop Says Special Unit Formed to Hunt for Foreign Criminals in Thailand. At a special, high-level police conference held at a Jomtien Hotel on Soi 12 Friday and Saturday Police Lt. General Wuthi Liptapanlop announced the formation of a special unit called the National Criminal Center to catch foreigners wanted for crimes. He spoke in English to representatives of foreign embassies and police organizations stationed in Bangkok about how to all work together to catch foreign criminals.

These false allegations reported in the foreign media are hurting my reputation and affecting my business so I went to the Pattaya Times, which is always fair, to tell my side."

In a continuing police crackdown on foreign businessmen in Pattaya who may be committing crimes, a New Zealander who is fluent in Thai and worked his way up from flipping hamburgers on Walking Street to become one of Pattaya's leading foreign businessmen is now under suspicion for criminal activity.

The commissioner noted that Thailand will open a National Criminal Center to better handle police requests from abroad to track down foreign criminals in the country. A major office will be opened in Pattaya.
