DETROIT (AP) -- Time and time again, General Motors Corp.’s board of directors reaffirmed its support for Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner, even as the company piled up billions of dollars in losses and begged for government loans to stay alive.

Thai PM: No government funds for General Motors

TOKYO (AP) — Thai Prime Minster Abhisit Vejjajiva said Friday his government will not provide funds to struggling General Motors, the cash-strapped U.S. carmaker that asked for help in paying for a new factory and expanded production in the country.

 

Following the US bailout of the American manufactured automobile manufacturers General Motors and Chrysler, China has approved a new set of tax cuts and subsidies aimed at boosting fagging demand for cars, while pledging more help for its ailing steel sector.
