Chonburi Prepares to Honour HM with 30-Meter Shrine

Chonburi Mayor Sanee Jittakasaem chaired a meeting to plan the construction of a 30-meter city pillar shrine in Chonburi to honor His Majesty the King’s birthday celebrated this December.

Deputy Mayor of Pattaya Wuttisak Rermkitjakarn along with Pattaya City members and officers from the Public Works Office visited the Wong Amart beach to investigate the concrete barrier that is used to block beach water from eroding the sand and discovered that many parts of the concrete were damaged. They are now looking for a professional designer to find a solution to fix the problem.

The Research and Consultancy Institute of Thammasart University along with the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration recently invited representatives from the government as well as private companies, tourism business owners, and Pattaya locals to come together and share their ideas about how to boost tourism in Pattaya and the surrounding areas.

Pattaya City in association with the Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Office invites both Thai and foreigners to experience the traditional lifestyle of the rural Thai people of over 100 years ago which has been brought back to life at Naklua's ‘Old Town’.

The Tourism Development office along with The Ministry of Tourism and Sports joined with the Institution of Thai Law to study and collect information concerning environmental issues caused by tourism in Pattaya.

WALKING STREET CLEARED

Reports in international newspapers and on websites that the disco where the influenza A (H1N1) virus sickened 19 people - two from Taiwan - was located on Walking Street are now found to be false. The disco was miles away in Naklua.

Naklua event will make a designated walking street zone of this historic, upscale area.

The Pattaya City administration wants to change Naklua’s main street into a designated walking street zone in order to improve tourism in the area. The project’s budget is expected to be more than 40 million baht.
