Pattaya Gears up For 2010 Money Expo

Money and Banking Magazine celebrates the Money Expo stepping into its 10th year with signs of an improving economy by hosting the 2010 Money Expo right here in Pattaya on February 5-7 at the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH) Convention Hall at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has stressed the government would count more on the agricultural and food processing sectors than the industrial sector for the country’s economic development.

Director-General Satit Rungkasiri, has forecast that Thailands Economy will grow 3-4% this year.

Boosted by better-than-expected economic growth late last year, Thailand’s Ministry of Finance has revised upward its economic expansion estimate for 2009 and 2010.

Over one thousand Pattaya entertainment entrepreneurs and their employees recently gathered in front of Pattaya City Hall to submit their petition for extension of service hours, as their businesses have been severely affected by the economic and political crisis; with some asserting that they’ve lost over 50% of their income. They hope that staying open later will attract more customers.

The Director of Business and Economic Forecast Center at the Thai Chamber University, revealed that the current consumer confidence index has increased, climbing up for two consecutive months.
