Bangsaen Beach, Chonburi An educational and entertaining production of Shakespeare’s delightful comedy of love, “As You Like It,” set in Thailand, will be presented at Bangsaen Beach’s BURAPHA UNIVERSITY on Monday and Tuesday, September 21st and 22nd at 7:00 p.m., and Thursday, September 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the QS2 building’s “Theatre,” room 101. Admission is free and open to everyone.

YWCA Presents 408 Scholarships to Pattaya Students

The Y.W.C.A. recently organized scholarship presentations to Pattaya students, Chonburi Educational Service Area 3, Nongyai Municipality, Burapha University, Ramkamhaeng University and Rashamongkohn Eastern Technological College, Bangpra campus. 77 charitable, good-hearted seniors who realized how important education is for society supported the 408 scholars.

The Commission on Higher Education held its CHE-USDC II Congress in the Napalai Convention Hall of Dusit Thani Pattaya with the highlight on contract-signing ceremony aimed at promoting higher education research at universities in the national level.

Ramkhamhaeng University 210 students walking into the marine gymnasium for being introduced and detailed the Pre-Military Training Course provided by Royal Thai Navy.

Sattahip Naval Base recently welcomed 210 students from Ramkhamhaeng University to attend the Pre-Military Training Course in accordance with the University’s Academic Curriculum. The welcoming ceremony took place at the Sattahip Marine Command Center’s gymnasium. In addition, as part of the ceremony, a special lecture, “Current Political Situation and National Security” was delivered by Vice Admral Suvit Thararoop, Royal Thai Navy Commander.

Following a million baht fundraiser led by Optimist Club of Thailand, the Pattaya Times, Siam Pacific Engineering and Swedtech/ Scandinavian Homes, with the support of more than 20 Pattaya businesses, a representative group met with Mr. Nattasetha Phosrithong, Director of Education for the 150Banglamung, Sriracha and Sattahip schools to begin a dialogue to see how the expat community can help area schoolchildren.

The Burapha University’s Faculty of Tourism Management associated with Pattaya City to sign the contract to establish the Pattaya Center for Sustainable and Excellent Business Management and Entrepreneurship (PCEBE) – A tourism consulting center to provide tourism related advices. The center will be officially opened, one location in front of Pattaya City Hall and another one in Jomtien, on September.

A Photoshop Training Course was recently organized and provided under the association of the Pattaya Join & Care International Photography Club and the Na Na Pu Nam Newspaper; and was held at the Mike Long Beach Resort Hotel, Pattaya.

The Charity boxing to be held on August 27 at the Thepprasit Road’s Fairtex Boxing Stadium, to collect funds to support the upcoming 34th Ratshapruk Demonstrative School Games.

Pattaya City in association with Fairtex Boxing Stadium, Pattaya schools, and the Burapha University Phiboon Bamphen Demonstrative School has organized a Charity Boxing event to be held on August 27 at the Thepprasit Road Boxing Stadium. This is in order to collect funds to support the upcoming 34th Ratshapruk Demonstrative School Games.

Major education seminar tackles rural school issues

Special steps will be taken to improve schools in remote areas, a seminar in Pattaya heard.

The Asian skillful horse riders will gather up at the Thai Polo and Equestrian Club Pattaya for the up coming FEI World Jumping Challenge 2009, August 8-9.

Some of Thailand’s top female horse jumping riders will be competing for a place at an international competition held in Pattaya.

Educational aid given for needy students

A charity has presented 400 scholarships to talented but disadvantaged students.

These students will soon be provided educational assistance from local businessmen

Everyone who has time should come to the party on Sunday evening August 16 to raise money with the Optimist Club of Thailand to help educate children, said Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome.

Asian University’s Asian Experience 2009

Asian University’s Summer University 2009 started on August 3. With thirty-nine young people from thirteen different countries, it will be a truly international experience. They will spend three weeks in Thailand, learning about the Thai ways, culture and history and about doing business here.

The students are being educated and taught how useful it is to travel in their area according to the “Educational Traveling” project offered by government.

Thailand’s young and old have been out seeing more of their country in an effort to encourage tourism and will continue to get free outings this month. A nationwide project targets 160,805 students and operates under a 145 million baht budget during July and August.

The Senior Class of The International School Eastern Seaboard (ISE) were joined in a Group picture at the end of graduation Ceremony Class of 2009 at Cattaleya Ballroom The Montien Hotel, Pattaya.

The Public Health and Environmental Office in Pattaya has recently organized a program to train 150 students from private and public educational institutions as Young Sanitarians.

Recently the Rotary Club of Pattaya District 3340 presented scholarship funds to students, who achieve high grades. The club hands out 1,500 baht to each of the 66 needy students from all 11 schools in Pattaya, totaling 99,000 baht.
