Water Sports

Our crew today were predominately from Bangkok, and being of a much younger age than yours truly they decided they would like to start out at 6.00 hours (For the non military types this means 6:00 am in the morning).

After the trip the previous day, yours truly was very much out of sorts and nearly decided not to go. However thinking only of my faithful followers I bore the pains of a bad stomach and tiredness and made ready for the trip to Bangsaray.

Recent trips have proved to be very poor due to various reasons. Firstly the weather conditions at this time of the year can be very unpredictable and caution is foremost in everyone’s mind when venturing too far out. I will come back to this point later in this report.

The Phuket King’s Cup Regatta 2009 will be held from November 28th to December 5th at Phuket’s beautiful Kata Beach. This is one of yachting’s top events, regionally and internationally and highlights Phuket’s marine lifestyle and the fact that Phuket is a great sporting destination. The seven day event is expected to attract 2,000 tourists to the area and will generate much needed tourism income.
