Cambodian Support For Thaksin Backfires

Thaksin Shinnawatra's appointment as Finance Advisor to Cambodia has resulted in a drop in trade and tourism for both Thailand and Cambodia, Weerasak Kowsurat, the International Institute for Trade and Development Director, has revealed.

Thaksin Shinnawatra was warmly greeted by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen on his recent visit to the Cambodia.

Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva recently announced that Thailand will participate in the UN’s Marathon for Peace, to be held on October 31 starting at 6:00 am. The marathon will start at the United Nations Asia Pacific Building on Ratchadamnern Klang Road in Bangkok. The event is limited to ten thousand people.
