Ramayana Water Park, currently under construction on Sukhumvit Road, South Pattaya, will provide an exciting new source of family entertainment for Thailand’s fast-growing beach destination. This will be Thailand’s first international standard waterpark and South-East Asia’s largest.

Ramayana Water Park has assembled a team of leading world experts to head the Project. White Water West Industries, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of waterslides and waterpark equipment--with over 4,000 completed projects worldwide--have been engaged for the initial concept and all of the waterpark equipment. The design and themes have been produced by Hassell Architects, an award winning Australian-Thai architectural firm specializing in landscape design.

With General Manager Alan Mahony leading the team, the project is guaranteed to be the best of the best. Mr. Mahony was recently awarded the World Waterpark Association Executive Board Award 2011 for his commitment and excellence to the development and operations of world class waterparks in Asia. He has also led many leading world waterparks such as Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou China, which became the world’s busiest waterpark during his time there.

Ramayana Water Park is a very significant project for Thailand by enhancing Thailand’s attractiveness as a tourist destination, according to Thailand’s Minister of Tourism & Sports, who gave the project his support. The Project is also supported by the Thailand Government and received Board of Investment approval.

Ramayana Water Park will join the many tourist attractions on Sukhumvit Road, South Pattaya, including Underwater World, the Floating Market, the Alangkarn Show, the Dinosaur Adventure, and Thai Elephant Thepprasit  Trekking.

General Manager Alan Mahony said, “The waterpark will have the newest and most exciting waterslides available offering thrills for adults & teenagers and hours of fun for small children. The Waterpark will also have many relaxation zones and attractions, international & local food & beverages, plus live entertainment. This world class entertainment facility will offer a full day of fun and long lasting memories for family and friends.”

“The waterpark will be designed and built to the highest international standards on approximately 160,000 sq. m. of park land. It will offer the latest thrills and family rides supplied by WhiteWater West Industries, whose customers include Disney, Sea World and Chimelong Water Park. The waterpark will be themed along the storyline of Ramayana offering seven different zones, narrating the Ramayana epic which will be woven into a beautiful native landscape,” he added.

Some of the exciting rides and attractions are the Dual Wave Pool, The Vortex, Dual Master Blaster, Aqualoop, and Rainfortess, just to name a few.

The Ramayana Water Park began construction in March this year. The one billion baht project will be completed and opened for the public in early 2013.

According to Representative Manager Julia, “The entrance fee is expected to be around 900 baht for adults and a little less for children, though this has yet to be confirmed.”

Ramayana Water Park conducted extended studies and market research with the help of the renowned international market research company Ipsos together with the market research team from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Thailand’s leading research university.

“The result clearly shows the attractiveness of this type of entertainment project in Thailand.  Pattaya was chosen because studies showed it is now Thailand’s leading tourist destination with annual visitors of over 8.35 million tourists. Pattaya is also very convenient for international and local visitors due to easy access via expressways from Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi International Airport. With Bangkok residents now looking for quality weekend getaways, the Ramayana Water Park is the perfect solution” according to Mr. Mahony, the General Manager.

With its superior design, selection of amusement rides and native landscaping, combined with the Ramayana storyline, visitors—both international and local-- will be able to relax and enjoy a complete action-packed day, providing a fantastic and memorable experience for both families and singles alike.
