Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome announces to Pattaya City Council members, business owners and citizens the Four Strategies that will dramatically improve Pattaya within the next four years.
Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome recently announced four improvement strategies which will be implemented during his new four-year term of office.
Mayor Itthiphol said, “After having been re-elected the Mayor of Pattaya, I promise that I will do my best to continue to improve the city using my knowledge and experience with the help of a dedicated administrative team and a solid plan for strategic improvements. My aim is to develop the city so that it can both grow and overcome current problems.”
Under the vision “Pattaya will develop every second”, the improvement strategies are as follows;
1. Economic Strategies: A symbol for Pattaya will be developed and standards will be improved to attract higher-class tourists who will in turn bring about higher levels of spending in Pattaya. Traffic congestion will be reduced with the construction of bridges and tunnels on the main roads thereby reducing the urge for local residents to visit Bangkok instead.
2. Social Strategies: Encourage local residents to cooperate with the city government to help improve Pattaya. Grant public school students 15 years of free education. Insure students are given a high quality education, including fluency in at least two languages. Guarantee the personal safety of tourists coming to Pattaya by installing CCTVs and establishing a comprehensive security team. Put in place a special emergency rescue team to protect tourists traveling from Pattaya to nearby islands like Koh Larn. Complete the Pattaya City Hospital which can accommodate over 80 inpatients and 1,000 outpatients per day.
3. Environmental and Natural Resources: Encourage everyone to lend a hand to reduce waste and push the “Green School” and “Green Tourism” campaigns. Restore the ecosystem by enlarging the beachfront to 35 meters in width and 2.7 kilometers in length. Build fish and coral breeding sites. Develop proper waste management, water drainage and recycling systems.
4. Promote Cultural Tourism: Support local cultural tourism to allow Thais and foreigners to learn about Thai history and culture by hosting exhibitions as well as promoting Pattaya to be registered with UNESCO.
“All in all, these strategies will not be achievable without the help of local residents and tourists, so I would like to advise everyone to lend a hand to improve the beautiful city we live in,” he concluded.
