Lions Club of Pattaya Grants Encyclopedias to Local Schools

Members of the Lions Club of Pattaya along with Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome recently granted 17 encyclopedias for youth on behalf of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, along with 97 regular encyclopedias to schools throughout Chonburi.



Mr. Bunjong Buntoolprayuk, Pattaya City Council member and representative from the Lions Club of Pattaya said, “Granting encyclopedias to local school is the intention of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The encyclopedias were written by the Thais for the Thais. His Majesty wishes for children to have the opportunity to read and improve their academic knowledge. 

There are question and answer exercises in which the students can practice as well. The book is written in three levels; children, young adult and adults.”

The encyclopedia that was granted was the 36th edition. Seventeen schools received one honor edition granted on behalf of His Majesty the King while other schools received the regular editions. Each school will teach the students the contents of the encyclopedias and they will have competitions in which the students will also compete at a national level.
