Where to go for the Best Seafood in Pattaya
I would like to recommend a place that I have been going to for years, and it never fails to impress me: Preecha Seafood, located in Jomtien Soi 28. Ask any Thai person and they would have heard of this place unless they’ve been living under a rock.
The highlight of this place is the freshness of their seafood: the fish are swimming in a tank at the entrance, ready to be selected and brought to the kitchen for preparation.
Not only that, Preecha Seafood is very affordable. The majority of the diners are Thai, so their price range means very good value for money, with a meal averaging around 150 baht per plate.
Just like nearly every seafood restaurant in town, Preecha also has a sea view, with its location right on the beach. What is different though is that the stretch of beach where Preecha is located is calm, with few boats or any other distractions to mar the ambience of your dining experience.
The service at Preecha is also very good and the food is served quickly no matter how many guests there are. The restaurant has both enclosed and open-air sections so you can go there in any type of weather.
Now that you have a general idea of the place, let me introduce you to some of their best dishes. First is their steamed crab which comes with a spicy seafood dip. The crabs come in various sizes and price so you can pick whichever suits you. The best is to go for the medium-sized crab which is available for 400 baht per kg.
Another dish is the clams in garlic and butter sauce. Their clams are about the size of your hand and are only 50 baht each.
The next recommended dish is a little pricey at 1,300 baht per plate: the fried mantis with garlic & pepper (one plate represents one kilogram of fish) so it’s definitely worth it.
There are many other great dishes like their crab fried rice and tom yum soups, so be sure to try those as well.
If you are planning to go on the weekend, I would advise you make a reservation if you want a beach-side table, call 038 709-439.
Preecha Seafood is open from 10am-9.30pm everyday.
