Dr. Suthiphol Taweechaikorn, Honorary Advisor to the project, said it was the first such project held along Thailand’s longest route, which totals 1,479 kilometers. “The NBTC is determined to promote telecommunications equally across the country to promote the development of innovative services, to narrow the gap and support the disabled so that they have access to telecommunication services throughout Thailand. The number 1479 is for people with disabilities who need assistance in various fields. They can call to report issues, ask questions, get job placement assistance or make any other enquiries 24 hours a day.”
General Phisarn Wattanawongkiri, Chairman of the project said, “As for the marathon from Chonburi to Nongkhai, it commenced May 7 and the participants have since traveled through Chachaengsao, Samut Prakarn, Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and many other provinces and will reach Nongkhai on June 23rd.
