Coffee Shops: A Booming Business in Pattaya
Every morning millions of people rely on their morning fix of coffee to kick start their day. For this reason, coffee has become very popular coming in many forms and flavors resulting in coffee shops popping up everywhere. From small pop-up stores to coffee carts connected to motorbikes, to cute little bakeries, they all tend to be doing extremely well.
I, as a coffee addict myself, am constantly searching for new coffee shops and bakeries around Pattaya. After several visits, I realize that what I was looking for was more than just reasonably priced freshly brewed coffee. I was searching for a meeting place, a place where I can sit for hours and hours, or simply, a home away from home. In Pattaya, I have to recommend a few new places I’ve found that meets my criteria of great ambience, comfortable and cozy seating and delicious drinks and bakery goods at a sensible price.
The top on my list right now has to be Twins Bakery and Cuisine located on Pratamnak Hill near the Cosy Beach Hotel. This place is secluded with the sea within view, perfect for a romantic catch up or a relaxing sit and read time. They offer the usual coffee and drinks at a milder/sweet taste as well as food and bakery products. Their signature dessert is the crepe cake with passion fruit topping. Their price range averages around 70 baht for drinks, 120 baht for main meals and 70 baht for cakes.

Twins Bakery and Cuisine located on Pratamnak Hill guarantees to offer serenity as well as great food and drinks.

Next on my list is the Sketch Book Art Café & Restaurant located on Thappraya Road opposite Avalon Beach Resort. This place is surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. The inside is packed with paintings and their furniture is mainly wood. There is also a small wooden playground perfect for children. Apart from the coffees, the drinks, Thai and western dishes, ice cream and pastries that they offer, there are so many things to do and buy there. You can draw on canvas, paint your own bags as well as shop for crafty products from photo frames to paint brushes.

The Sketch Book Art Café & Restaurant stands out from other coffee shops through the use of art and drawings.
Another shop that has been the talk among the teens is Hippies Cake located on Pattaya Third Road near the I-spa intersection. This place is not too big and is affordable with a cup of coffee starting from just 45 baht. The shop is open-air and offers a very friendly service.

Not far from Hippie Cake is another café called Cup & Cake. This cute little shop has a small fishing pond at the back with the inside decorated in mainly white classic furniture. They offer the usual, with drinks starting from 50 baht and cakes around 85 baht.

Above are just a few out of the many coffee shops that were recently opened that I would recommend. There are many places that have been in business for a long time like La Baguette French Bakery located in front of the Woodlands on Pattaya Naklua Road that is exceptional as well.
So if you have time, visit these places and you never know, you may find your home away from home where you want to sit for hours and hours and relax.
