Electric Train Link to Pattaya

Pattaya will be linked by an elevated electric rail system directly to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport and the city’s BTS Skytrain system, according to a plan announced by the Thai Ministry of Transport.
This will open up a new, high-speed link for tourists, and contribute to a further expansion of both business and tourism just in time for the advent of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
A spokesman for the Ministry said a consultant will soon be hired to study the new route from Bangkok to Pattaya via Chonburi, the provincial capital. The study is scheduled to be completed in 12 months’ time.
