Siam Motors Group selects IMG, a major international company dealing in sports, entertainment, and media, to launch a new mega golf course center, which will be named the Siam Country Club Pattaya New Course. This new Siam Motors Group investment in Pattaya will become a center of attraction for golf enthusiasts in Thailand. The new course will feature a waterfront landscape and traditional golf course concepts, and will feature the same championship qualities as the Old Course (18-hole) and the Plantation (27-hole) on the adjoining property -- both renowned golf courses and considered among the best in the Asia Pacific region. In the future, both domestic and international investors may be invited to join in the project. The new course is expected to open in March 2014.

Siam Motors Group selects IMG to launch the new golf center in Thailand

Dr. Phornthep Phornprapha, Chairman of Thongthaworn Pattana Co., Ltd. and founder of Siam Country Club announced that construction of this new development will commence soon. Dr. Phornthep revived his father's vision of a quality international-standard golf course in Thailand. He revealed that the total construction cost of the course is THB 800 million. The new course will bring back the tourists' confidence in Thailand, after last year's disastrous floods.  Siam Country Club still has in excess of 2,000 rai (800 acres) of undeveloped land.  The cooperation with IMG group, renowned for their expertise in international sports management, is only but the beginning of a brighter future relationship.   With this winning team, Pattaya will surely become the home to a future international-standard golf academy.

The region of Pattaya has long been recognized as a haven for golfers, as well as families seeking a beach-side vacation.  The area near Siam Country Club Pattaya also has many other attractions: the clean, fresh air and panoramic view of the city of Pattaya; the Three Kingdoms Museum; Wat Khao Chee Jant; and Wat Khao Pho Thong.  Near the Siam Country Club property are other noted locations such as Thammasart University Pattaya Campus; the Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha Hall of Fame (he is the founder of Thailand's automotive industry); the Church of the Assumption; Siam Motors Train Garden; Siam Motors Railway Station; Nong Ta Oon Municipal Hospital; and the Boonthaworn Temple, which sits on the hilltop near the 9th hole at the Old Course (100 meters from the clubhouse,) where you can visit to pay respects and view the most magnificent panoramic view of Pattaya.

Siam Country Club  was an idea born out of the love and passion for the game of golf by its founder, Dr.Thaworn Phornprapha.  His descendants, the Phornprapha family, will continue to uphold his vision, his dedication and his love of the game, in the best interests of Thailand and the whole Asian region.  The charms and distinctive characteristics of the courses will undoubtedly become legendary -- as the first, and finest, privately-owned golf course complex in Thailand.
