First Independent Power Buy Opens in Pattaya Selling Electronics to Russians
The first “standalone” Power Buy electronics store had its grand opening on December 2 in Central Pattaya, located near Foodland Supermarket on Central Pattaya Road and will help fill the raging demand Russian and other Eastern European consumers have for less expensive, higher quality TVs, computers, DVD players, mobile phones, entertainment systems and other products. This store offers ease of shopping as it has its own street level parking area and is on the baht bus line. This will be the first Power Buy to have its own facility — not located within malls, like its predecessors.
Power Buy, the largest consumer electronics store in Thailand, is owned by Central Retail Group. Central Retail is at the forefront when it comes to developing innovative and diverse retail formats that address prevalent market opportunities, operating department store brands and specialty stores in Thailand.
Among the retail brands of Central Retail Group in addition to Power Buy are Central, Zen, Robinson, Tops Supermarket, Supersport, B2S, Homeworks and Office Depot.
This new standalone Power Buy is the brainchild of Kobchai Chirativat, president and CEO of Central Pattana Public Company Limited (Central Retail’s parent company). Mr Kobchai has a long and illustrious history of business development in Pattaya since 1996 when he expanded his family's investments by renting the land at Second Road between Sois 2 and 3 to build a competitor to Royal Garden Plaza which offered the "Big C" store name and two floors of retail space and Pattaya's first multi-screen movie theater.
Power Buy offers 500 different brands of electronics, household appliances, televisions, air conditioners, DVD players, radiators, washers and dryers, computers, notebooks, digital cameras, mobile phones, printers, and more.
