A selection of delicacies available at Nice Delice that are to die for.

A selection of delicacies available at Nice Delice that are to die for.

For those of you who appreciate French culinary delights and who do not care whether they put weight on or get even bigger, this newly opened Patisserie will be heaven on earth.

Sebastien Sirvent and his wife of four years, Jenny, opened up right next to Friendship in Pattaya Tai last year and if you love pastries, salads, quiches and coffee this is a definite stop off.

Park in Friendship, do your shopping and then nip next door for a gastronomic delight before going home.

Sebastien spent one year in Central Festival before moving here. Prior to that he had his own Patisserie in France and trained under Top Patisserie Chefs, including working at Le Notre.

I have been told you can also find his pastries in La Cantina   and I believe that is in Soi Khao Talo, apologies if I have been given incorrect information.

But he is not all about pastries, he has Quiches: Lorraine and Tomato to name two, all at 75baht per slice plus Ham or Mushroom Pizza at 65baht per slice. As well as those he does three types of sandwich with a salad base and different fillings. Finally there are three salads, Tuna 95baht, Chicken 125 baht and Nicoise 145baht.

On top of this he also provides breakfast: American,110baht; comprises 2 Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Toast, Orange Juice and Coffee.

French, 90baht; Croissant, Toast, Butter, Jam, Orange Juice and Coffee.

All the coffee varieties are excellent and my wife said the hot chocolate was to die for, the best she has ever had.

But the real thing you come for is those pastries and they are as follows:

Eclair Chocolat, 4 Saisons, Black Forest, Mille Feuille, Sully, Ambre, Opera, St Honoree, Absolut (sorry no vodka in it) and Tropeziene.

We sampled the Sully and the Eclair Chocolat and oh boy!!! what fabulous ones they were.

He also has two cheesecakes and my American friend raved over her's,the best she has ever had here.

Then there are a range of “Tarte” slices, but if you want to entertain you can buy it in the complete round version and the varieties are Apricot, Apple, Citron and Peach, all at reasonable prices.

A wonderful find and my friends and I wish Sebastien and Jenny all the best in this venture: we shall be going again and again!!
