HRH Princess Bejaratana Rajasuda Sirisophabannavadi Patron of the Siam Society Passes
HRH Princess Bejaratana Rajasuda Sirisophabannavadi, a major contributor and Honorary Vice President of the Siam Society Under Royal Patronage passes at age 85.
It is with deep sadness that the Pattaya Times newspaper announces the passing of HRH Princess Bejaratana Rajasuda Sirisophabannavadi, only child of King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) who passed away on Wednesday afternoon, July 29, 2011, at the age of 85 from a blood infection.
As an Honorary Vice President of the Siam Society, http://www.siam-society.org/ Princess Bejaratana was a loyal and concerned member who made generous donations in support of the Society’s activities, in particular, significant contributions towards the Library fund. In 2009 the Society organised a joint textile exhibition with CASA Asia of Spain to promote cultural understanding and appreciation of the artistic heritage between the two countries. Princess Bejaratana was a major sponsor of this exhibition in lending several valuable pieces from her private collection.
In accordance to the wishes of His Majesty the King, her Royal Urn, installed in the Dusit Maha Prasart Throne Hall, is to be given the highest honours.
