Pattaya Times Newspaper- SATTAHIP, Thailand (May 20, 2011)  Capt. David Welch, Commander, Task Group 73.1, (right), along with Rear Adm. Chaiyot Sundaranaga, Commander, Royal Thai Navy Frigate Squadron Two, report the results of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2011 during the closing ceremonies.

Sailors attached to Task Group 73.1 participated in Medical Civic Action Programs, Community Relations programs, at sea training and an amphibious assault during the exercise.
CARAT 2011 is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness.
