Pattaya Mayor Urges Motorcycle Riders to Wear Helmets - Pattaya Times News - mayor - itthiphol - kunplome


Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome has encouraged all motorcycle riders to wear helmets to protect themselves from injuries and fatalities in road accidents and is targeting to reduce the number of fatalities caused by motorcycle accidents by half within 2020.




Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol admitted strong concern that road accidents had been causing terrible losses for people and their families in Pattaya. He then called on all motorcycle riders to wear helmets to protect themselves.

Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol announced that the city is trying to cut the fatality rate caused by accidents by half within 2020 or no more than 10 fatalities per 100,000 people. He promised that the city would also upgrade the helmet standard at the same time.

Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol then requested the private sector, related entrepreneurs and educational institutions to help campaign employees and students to wear helmets when they ride motorcycles.
