“Tourism business owners can now pay their taxes in 24 installments or longer,” Pattaya Mayor

Itthiphol Kunplome announced during a Pattaya Business & Tourism Association meeting held recently.

Over 98 percent of tourism businesses in Thailand have been affected by the political chaos that has been ongoing over the past three years. Pattaya, being one of the biggest tourism destinations in Thailand has been greatly affected. To help local tourism business owners Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol decided to ask the government for help in terms of subsidizing tax.

The government has agreed to subsidize tax for tourism business owners in Pattaya using three ways that have already been used to assist the tourism industry in Bangkok.

Firstly tourism businesses can now pay taxes in three installments without having to pay fees but must submit the paper work before February. The second way is to pay taxes in 24 installments and pay an additional 10 percent of the estimated tax. Another way is to pay tax in more than 24 installments and pay an additional fee of 10 percent but get approval from the Governor first.

“These factors will be adapted to suit Pattaya tourism business owners,” confirmed Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol.
