Keeping it in the Family

As I reported Amphan North had won the last two Saturday outings with the TRGG

Well she may not have won this week but her husband Jeff did.

Jeff has just returned back to Thailand and it seems has lost none of his golfing skills whilst away. However wife Amphan did not loose out completely she took third spot at and made the two’s all her own as well.

Sandwiched for second spot between Jeff and Amphan was Jon Dean.

So down to a more detailed report on the three days of golf this week.

On Monday the 2nd of August for the first outing of the month we went to Bangpra a small group and just one division. I have it reported that conditions were very damp and there was little if no run on the ball hence the very low scores. However Richard Talbot overcame the conditions to claim first spot with his thirty-four points and was followed in by Arnold Jones at thirty-one. Third was Fergus Brennan at twenty-nine. Two two’s from (Mr. Two) himself Ted Senior and Mod Chaviraksa.

On Thursday the fifth it was our traditional Thursday visit to Phoenix.

Playing Lakes and Ocean. A good turnout and two divisions.

However next weeks visit to phoenix has had to be cancelled because even though it is low season and the numbers attending are down they still saw fit to up the costs because it is a holiday. Will they ever understand simple math and realize you do not attract players and regular players at that by upping the anti. So alternatives are being arranged.

On the day in division one Daryl Ottoway led the field with a forty pointer and just the one back were both Rodney Hayes and Fergus Brennan both at thirty-nine with Rodney taking the count back.

In Div 2 Arnold Jones was first with thirty-eight. Two back in second was Robert Cannon and one back in third was Tom McCarthy at thirty-five.

Three two’s one from John Franklin, one from Ito Akitoshi and the other from Daryl Ottoway.

On Saturday 7th it was back again to the Banchang area and the “Emerald” with a very good turnout. Two divisions and places down to third in each.

Division two found Steven Peluso (visiting with us for the first time) in top spot with his thirty-seven. Second was Martin Solberg 36 and third our regular player Roger Wilkinson also 36 but beaten on count back.

Division  one was almost a family affair with Jeff North first at thirty-nine and wife Amphan third at thirty-three in between them and second was Jon Dean at thirty-six

The Nagger Award (adopted from an Australian tradition so I understand) for last spot was awarded to Richard Moore (score undisclosed) who as the pic shows downed the beer that has to be drunk from a pot that resembles a part of the female anatomy with relish.
