Around the end of this month water sports fanatics will get the opportunity to zip up their wetsuits, pick up their boards and head down to the Pattaya Windsurfing Cup.

Organized by the Windsurfing Association of Thailand and the Pattaya City Club, the competition is part of the country's 2010 Windsurfing Championship.

The first leg of the event kicked off on June 25 and the second stage of the tournament is going to be held on July 23.

The event will feature some of the best windsurfers in the region from across the country. They are sure to wow the crowds while performing their best tricks along Jomtien Beach.

Three days of long and tough competition await the entrants, with events typically kicking off at around 1:00 pm and running till the sun goes down.
Jomtien Beach has become something of a haven for water sports aficionados in recent years, with jet-skiing and banana boating also proving popular entertainment. During the rainy season the winds are good for water sports but take care to be aware of rapidly changing conditions which can pose a problem to even the strongest of swimmers.
