Dream Cones Ltd. is a Thai corporation which manufactures top-of-the-line, halal, super-premium Italian ice cream (gelato) and ice cream ingredients right here in Pattaya. They also sell ice cream manufacturing and display equipment. Most of their international customers are manufacturing franchisees, located in Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, New Zealand, Malaysia, Oman and China. In April, 2007 they added a line of baked goods which are used in their ice cream products and also sold retail through their own outlets and to franchisees.

Peter Millsom from Dream Cones told the Pattaya Times “Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream. Commercial ice cream contains about 20% butterfat and 60% air. Gelato contains about 4 -6% fat and 30% air. About half of the fat is zero cholesterol vegetable oil. This makes gelato more dense and much healthier than commercial ice cream. Since gelato is so much lower in fat its flavors are much more intense than commercial ice cream. A characteristic of gelato is that it is much more creamy than commercial ice cream, even though it has less fat. It is so creamy because we use lots of expensive New Zealand milk solids and much less trapped air than is found in commercial ice cream.”

“Our flavors are made from all-natural ingredients and real fruit. The fruit is NEVER boiled. It is warmed at low temperature so that its full flavor and food value is not lost. Our products are “real food,” not “junk food.”  They are full of vitamins and minerals. Sorbet is an Italian ice made with large quantities of fruit, fruit juice and natural fruit fibers. It is sweetened mainly with fruit sugar, is not as sweet as gelato and is very refreshing. Sherbets are similar to sorbets but contain about 2% vegetable fat, which makes them less tart and more creamy. Our gelato is a “home made” product made in small batches and decorated by hand. Its density makes it taste creamy although it actually contains very little cream. It is also available as a sugar-free product which is indistinguishable from gelato made with sugar.” Peter explained.

Dream  Cones also supplies Soy-So Delicious which  is an animal-product-fee “gelato, ” made with soy. It is also available as a sugar-free product suitable for vegans, vegetarians and lactose-intolerant customers. It is available in most of the same flavors as regular gelato and tastes the same.
They also have a soft serve range which is ice cream that is sold at a higher temperature than “hard” ice cream. Their soft serve base is a healthy product, low in fat and sugar. A favorite flavor is yoghurt flavored gelato made with 7% dried yoghurt. Soft serve can be sold as a cone, a sundae or in a crepe. Since soft serve is manufactured at point of sale it costs less and can sell for less.

Part of the Dream Cones range include a number of upscale ice cream specialties, including ice cream sandwiches, cakes, rolls and chocolate ice cream balls, designed to offer a distinct line of specialty products which cannot be purchased elsewhere. Designed by their Paris trained Chef Michael, these treats are both eye-catching and truly delicious.

Dream Cones also have manufacturing operations in  Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua-Hin, three in northern Thailand and one on the island of Koh Samet.

In October, 2006 the company began offering international manufacturing franchises.Peter revealed “ Most of our franchisees have no experience in the ice cream business. We provide turnkey businesses in cooperation with our franchisees. We train them in every aspect of the business including the manufacture of cakes and pastries.  Dream Cones franchise manufacturers use our machines, ingredients and equipment to manufacture their ice cream products. Licensed manufacturers are located in Vietnam, Malaysia, Oman, Brunei, New Zealand and Thailand.”

“We make no profit from franchise pastry sales but train our franchisees to make them. We think it is important for our franchises sell them in order to broaden their product line. Training is a big job but we consider our franchisees as part of the Dream Cones family and love to help them.  Their success is our success!” Peter added.

If you are interested in becoming a franchisee or having this product added to your existing business call Peter on 086 113 9331.
