The Ministry of Commerce has established a one-stop service center to facilitate new entrepreneurs in starting businesses, hoping to upgrade Thailand as one of the top-ten countries most convenient for running a business.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva presided over the inauguration of the center at the Department of Business Development (DBD), Ministry of Commerce. The primary objective of the project is to develop a networking system that connects alliance agencies including the DBD, the Revenue Department and the Social Security Office.

The network will allow the state agencies to share relevant information necessary for starting a business such as registration, tax ID and business accounts for employers. People who wish to establish a juristic body or a proprietorship can proceed with the registration process all at once by filling a single form.

The one-stop service center has been launched at the DBD headquarters in Nonthaburi province. The service will be made available at DBD offices nationwide by October 1.

The improvement of the service will help streamline the work process and make business startups easy. The project is expected to move Thailand in the ranking of the most business friendly environments as ranked by the World Bank, up from  12th currently to the 9th in the near future.
