Short-movie Competition to Inform Public on Dangers of Cyberworld

The Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) has joined with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), and the Research Institute of Thammasat University to launch a short-movie and video clip competition in a bid to stimulate the creativity of Thai youth and educate them as well about online media dangers.



Dr. Suthiporn Jittmitrapap Secretary-general of the NRCT said, “The project is under the theme of ‘Silent Dangers of the Cyberworld’. Not only will the competition offer an opportunity for youths to express their creative skills, but also inform them of dangers of online media.”

Contestants must be students studying in high school or pursuing their undergraduate degrees. Applications will be accepted from now until August 10. Contestants must send a copy of their work on the issue of ‘Cyber World Silent Danger’ to the Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA). The CD should be of the length of no more than 10 minutes and no more than 100 megabytes. 20 teams of contenders will be selected in the qualifying round, each of which will receive 5,000 baht cash prize. The winner, who will be chosen on September 3 and will be awarded a 150,000 baht education fund, a medal, a certificate, and an opportunity to attend a course on short-movie making.
