The airport link to central Bangkok will soon be fully operational.

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has confirmed the airport link train will finally commence commercial services in August.

Minister of Transport Sopon Zarum said he has been assured that the train running between downtown Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi Airport will be officially opened to the public and fully operational on August 23.

The commencement of the airport link has been postponed several times due to technical complications. Soon the luggage check-in system will be ready for operation and is awaiting verification from the independent consulting engineers’ team.

The ticket price for the regular line, which stops at every station, will start at 150 baht while the non-stop express line will be only 100 baht per person.

The airport link has been on a trial run since the beginning of June and has an average number of passengers of 7,870 per day with the train operating only on weekdays between 7:00 am - 10:00 am and 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
