Siripun Sinbuathong 15.07.2010 01:53

eBay has recently teamed up with Thailand Post to offer eBay sellers a more effective cross border trading service. The new service recently launched is an improved International Registered Tracking System.

With this newly improved system, Thai eBay sellers can now track their international shipments after they have left Thailand via the Track & Trace system, within 2 to 3 working days.

Special pricing discounts and privileges will also be offered to eBay ‘PowerSellers’ in Thailand. eBay PowerSellers should look out for email invitations sent to their eBay accounts by July. To be eligible for eBay's PowerSellers program, sellers must generate over around 97,200 baht in merchandise sales on eBay per month.

For International Registered Mail services, there will be a 15% discount, with the option to schedule pick-up one day in advance at 100 baht per location, or have daily pick-ups for 2,500 baht per month. For express delivery by EMS World services, there will be a 12% discount, with free pick-up from Mondays to Saturdays.

Participating post offices include those located in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathumthani, Samutprakan, Chantaburi and Chiang Mai.

"We are thrilled to be joining with eBay to offer special incentives to high volume eBay sellers. Additionally, with our improved online registered shipment tracking system (Track & Trace) in use, eBay sellers will not only be able to provide better international shipping services but also important delivery status information to their buyers," said Anusra Chittmittrapap, Senior Executive Vice President Marketing and Business Development at Thailand Post .

"The current improvement is just the first step in our commitment to support e-commerce in Thailand. Over the next few months, we will continuously improve our registered shipment tracking services, with the aim of enabling complete end-to-end online tracking for registered mails by the end of this year," added Anusra.

"One of the major challenges for cross border eBay sellers is to be able to provide delivery status information to international buyers as soon as the item has been shipped," said Ms. Allis Ghim, Director at eBay, who oversees Southeast Asia and Japan.

"With the new online tracking service by Thailand Post, eBay sellers will be able to track their shipments easily and quickly. The delivery status information can also act as a proof of shipment which can help alleviate common eBay item-not-received disputes."

To take part in the eBay and Thailand Post promotion, eBay PowerSellers should register with their eBay ID at http://export.ebay.co.th/thailandpost/index.html and print out a discount card by July 15, for use at a Thailand Post participating counter from July 15 to October 15.
