A branch office of the Transnational Crime Data Center (TNCDC) will open on August 5 at the Chonburi Immigration Bureau headquarters on Jomtien Soi 5 will be overseen by Chonburi Immigration Police Superintendent Colonel Athiwit Kamolrat.

Immigration Police Bureau Commissioner Lt. General Wuthi Liptapanlop, heads of the main TNCDC in Bangkok and oversees all of Thailand.  The Commissioner has been given the identifications of the US FBI’s ''Most Wanted'' and fugitives sought by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), by many other countries and by the international police agency INTERPOL.

Police Lt. General “Wut” Wuthi Liptapanlop said, “We have classified the various warrants and arranged warrants into categories depending on the severity of the crimes.  Some foreigners are wanted for human trafficking, robbery, terrorism, drugs, murder, kidnapping, rape and other serious charges, while some are wanted for lesser charges.”

“We are ready to open the Pattaya TNCDC office and have already begun arresting foreign fugitives in Pattaya based on the warrant information we receive from embassies and police organizations,” said Police Superintendent Colonel Athiwit.

The Pattaya branch TNCDC will also work with INTERPOL, US, Scandinavian, EU countries, Great Britain and Australia, as well as Asian countries to catch fugitives on the run and hiding in Thailand.

“Information technology is used to expedite the identification and capture of fugitives.  The TNCDC gives us the technological support and data bases we need to catch criminals who have become more sophisticated in hiding their identities,” said Police Superintendent Colonel Athiwit.
The main office opened in March under the command of Police Lt. General “Wut” Wuthi Liptapanlop at the Soi Suan Phlu Immigration office which used to be the main Immigration Bureau office before moving.

“The police crackdown which began six months ago targets more than 2,000 foreign nationals who have outstanding international arrest warrants against them and a list of about 1,000 foreign nationals with arrest warrants issued by Thai courts who have committed crimes while in Thailand. We have already captured some of these fugitives,” said Police Superintendent Colonel Athiwit.
