Managing Director of Horseshoe Point Pattaya Jate Sopitpongstorn introducing Deepak Chopra to the crowd while sharing his recent monkhood expereince.
Deepak Chopra, founder of the Chopra Foundation, world renowned author, international presenter and keynote speaker recently gave a talk about a field in which he knows best, mind-body health, spirituality and peace. The event was held at the Horseshoe Point Pattaya which attracted many guests who traveled from all over Thailand to listen to Mr. Chopra.
Mr. Chopra met Joy Sopitpongstorn of Horseshoe Point Pattaya a few years ago at one of his seminars. Mr. Chopra told Ms. Joy that he wanted to ordain as a monk in Thailand. Ms. Joy, being a good friend of Mr. Chopra, never forgot this and invited Mr. Chopra back to Thailand a few weeks ago in which Mr. Chopra was ordained as a monk with the aim of “furthering his mind towards enlightenment”.
Managing Director of Horseshoe Point Pattaya Jate Sopitpongstorn also joined Mr. Chopra being ordained as a monk. Right after their monkhood journey Mr. Jate invited Mr. Chopra to give a spirituality talk at Horseshoe Point which was very well attended by executive Thais, foreigners, locals and even celebrities.
The topics discussed during the spirituality talk were concerned with ‘reinventing the body and resurrecting the soul’, which is also the name of one of his many best selling books.
A topic that most interested the crowd was about consciousness. Mr. Chopra said, “When we understand the brain, we'll be able to understand consciousness objectively. But consciousness can only be explored by consciousness so it has to be a subjective experience.”
He also discussed a scientific approach to consciousness and how we are connected. He talked about how our body functions using consciousness rather than our brain.
“When you change the way you look at something, what you look at will change,” was also quote by Mr. Chopra in which he really wanted everyone to keep in mind.
For those who missed the spirituality talk they can head down the nearest book store and pick up a copy of one of his 55 books. Some recommended titles are; Reinventing the Body and Resurrecting the Soul, The Ultimate Happiness Prescription and The Shadow Effect in which he co-wrote with renowned writers Debbie Ford and Marianne Williamson.
