Thailand Selected to Host the First Global Advertising Awards

Phuket was chosen to host the Advertising Awards because of its world renowned tourist and business amenities.
Thailand has been selected to host the first-ever Global Advertising Awards between February 20th and 25th next year, beating out eight other bidding nations.
President of the Southern Thai Hotels Association, Suchart Hirankanokkul, revealed that Phuket has been chosen to be the location of the first-ever Global Advertising Award. He said the southern island won the bid because of its world renowned tourist and business amenities and its positive image for being well-prepared to host global events. Phuket's bid received support from the Commerce Ministry.
"The island city's selection provides an opportunity to launch Phuket into the global arena of architects and advertisers, publicizing the province's potential," Mr. Suchart said.
Meanwhile Phuket Governor Wichai Phraisa-ngop said that the public and private sector and local administration in the province are ready to facilitate the event. Mr. Wichai has also affirmed Phuket’s capabilities in hosting international events and as a tourist destination.
