Thanks to a deal reached by condo homeowners association members and the group that had rented the front parking area of the Thepprasit Road Keha Towers complex, residents got a free paint job.

Homeowner Ms. Wanrapa Boonsu and others demanded that if the association extends the lease to the successful Night Market group for an additional six years then they should pay to repaint the building since they were making a huge profit because of the low rent "negotiated" with the government.

The three tower complex was originally built by a Singaporean who overbuilt the units. There is an atrium in every building allowing for natural light with ventilation flowing fresh air throughout the floors avoiding any radon contamination.

Each wall is reinforced with metal, even interior walls. All the condo units facing the back side away from the road offer 180 degree ocean and hillside views. Many savvy investors are quietly buying these units and renovating them for substantial rents and profits. The number now to call for purchasing a Keha Tower condo is 038 301 069.

There are an Olympic swimming pool, two tennis courts and a huge clubhouse. The developer owned the land which included the land now leased to Tesco Lotus and the Outlet Malls.

He went bankrupt building the towers because he went way over budget to make the Towers last 100 years. The bank that got them in foreclosure itself went under in 1997 leaving the three gems to the government who tried to auction all the property as one parcel under the Thailand Asset management Corporation (TAMC) auction but the minimum price was 2 billion baht with all 100 rai (43 acres) of land so no one bid.

The government then gave the responsibility for management to the Government Housing Authority and that is why the government is the Juristic manager of the Towers. Many Thais bought the condos and shop houses and two of the most successful foreign-owned businesses, Eurodesign furniture and PAPPA Co. Legal Services have been there since 1998.

As one may expect little repairs and maintenance went into the building until now. With the push from the homeowners and business owners the team that rents the Night Market consented to paint the two front buildings at their expense.

To show how good their paint is Jotun Super Shield Paint Company helped by giving a one million baht discount for the price of the paint to be used.

More than 10,000 people a night visit the Night Market each Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 6 pm to 11:00 pm so Jotun, a Norwegian paint company selling paint in Thailand for many years, felt the exposure of how beautiful there paint made the famous landmark towers look would be good advertising for them.

After 15 years of neglect, the Keha Towers 1 & 2 have been repainted in the three-tone design. The famous towers are best known for hosting Pattaya’s largest outdoor market place, the Thepprasit Night Market.

Located between Big C and Tesco Lotus on Sukhumvit Highway the Keha Towers are a short walk to the Outlet Mall and minutes away fr4om bustling Thappraya Road, home of many of Pattaya’s best restaurants.

The Keha Towers are 12-story buildings with more than 200 condominiums in each building and commercial use on the first and second floors. Many of Pattaya’s oldest businesses are located in Keha. Eurodesign Furniture, PAPPA Legal Services, Keng Muetue Mobile phone repair shop, Thepprasit Honey, as well as newer businesses like BBB broadband internet service.
