U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport is continuing its expansion of services which will boost the Eastern Seaboard's economy.

The first flights from Lua Prabang, Laos to Pattaya are expected to begin on sometime in May 22-24 as part of the expansion and improvement of the U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport.

Rear Admiral Suraphong Aiyasanon, Vice President of U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport said, "The direct flights from Pattaya to and back from Luang Prabang, Laos will strengthen the relationship between both countries. It will also improve the economy for both countries because we will gather business owners in Laos to do special promotions to help attract more tourists. The first group that we have approached included 60 hotels, tourist destinations and hospital owners. At the moment we are in the process of discussing which promotional package to use to get the U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport better known and trusted from tourists both domestically and internationally."

Commander Saeree Peiasai, CEO of Swift Aviation Services added, "The reason we chose Luang Prabang, Laos first is because Luang Prabang is rich in culture and religion. It is also surrounded by many traditional and environmental tourist destinations that travelers coming from anywhere would love. With that, Pattaya also has a lot of selling points such as the beautiful beach and the well known night time entertainment. This is one of our first moves in promoting the U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport and we are hoping that it would be successful."
