Who is Brendan Moore?

Good question.

Answer. The man who had two firsts and second this week with the TRGG.

But believe me that is really only part of the tale.

Despite his win at Emerald on Monday with thirty-eight and winning the count back over three other players namely Phil Battah, Fergus Brennan and David Park.

A second at Treasure Hill on Tuesday with thirty-one again on count back over Tewin Lamthong and a first at Phoenix on Thursday with a convincing win by two points over Roger Ison.

He sadly missed out on another opportunity for a placing at Eastern Star on Saturday.

Why? A coconut tree.

At the fifteenth hole his ball (his last Pro V1 in his bag he advised me) decided to lodge itself in a coconut tree and despite the best efforts of all in his group and many, many minutes of attention. It was never to be seen again.

(I actually saw him personally being consoled by fellow players back at the Travellers Rest)

This was to cost him important points on the back nine and resulted in Mod Chaviraksa and Paul Scholes beating him on count back by one for third spot in division one.

It is a tough game this golf business at times. Isn’t it?

Detailed report of this weeks play

First outing was to "Emerald" on March 29.

Numbers were down and are starting to drop off a little now so just the one division.

First to Fourth was a thirty-eight count back fight out

Fourth went to David Park (17 back nine)

Third Fergus Brennan (19 back nine)

Second Phil Battah (22 back nine)

Winner Brendan Moore (23 back nine)

Three Twos. Brendan Kenny, Bill McGarvie and Brendan Moore.

Tuesday the 30th was a trip to Treasure Hill. Have not visited here in some time.

This is just not every ones favourite course it seems as the numbers in attendance proved. Very low. However it proved that Ito Akitoshi liked it for a win with thirty-two points over both Brendan Moore and Tewin Lamthong who both had thirty-one with Brendan edging it over the last six on count back by one.

Two two’s from Ito Akitoshi and Fergus Brennan

Thursday was the 1st April (Fools Day) and a regular Thursday outing to Phoenix.

The courses played on the day were Lakes and Ocean.

Numbers down this week so just the one division.

But there were no fools on this day. A convincing win for Brendan Moore and his second of the week with thirty-nine points and a full two ahead of Roger Ison at thirty-seven for second. Mod Chaviraksa was third at thirty-five. Two two’s recorded from Brendan Moore and Mod Chaviraksa. Brendan rang the bell back for all in attendance at the presentation at the Travellers Rest.

Saturday the 3rd and off we went to our alternative weekend venue of Eastern Star

Entry numbers good and two divisions. Pay outs to fourth place

In Division 2 Bruce Bennett was top this week with his thirty-nine. Second was Marie Intini with thirty-seven. Jeff Boylan took third spot with thirty-six beating Alan Evans on the count back.

In Division 1 the boss himself Fergus Brennan headed the list with his thirty-eight

(that should stop him commenting on how bad his game is) Larry Simpson was second with thirty-six and third was Mod Chaviraksa at thirty-two winning a three way count back over Paul Scholes and Brendan Moore.

No two’s. So the traditional bell ring for all at the presentation back at the hotel.
