Tourist Police Train Pattaya Hotel Staff in Emergency Procedures
Pattaya tourist police officers recently provided an emergency training course for ibis Hotel employees focusing on training staff how to deal with emergencies due to the current political situation, what to do if an environmental disaster occurs as well as handling other types of emergency situations. The employees were trained how to recognize suspicious objects, how to handle different situations, how to memorize suspicious vehicles and how to assist tourists if such chaos occurs.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Arun Phromphan, Pattaya Tourist Police Officer said, "Due to the political chaos with bomb threats and protest rallies, and the threat of natural disasters such as floods and tsunamis we have to be prepared to protect our tourism industry. We want to build the confidence of tourists and hotel guests by making sure that hotels in Pattaya are prepared for emergencies, starting with the ibis Hotel."
The training was led by Pattaya tourist officers along with other specialists who taught hotel employees basic knowledge of various types of bombs and explosives. Hotel employees learnt about what to do if they receive bomb threats, what to do if earthquakes or tsunamis occur, how to memorize the suspect vehicles and how to assist guests in case of emergencies.
