Pattaya Sports Club Donates TV's to the Pattaya School for the Blind
The Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind received a very generous donation from the Pattaya Sports Club. The donation consisted of four TV’s, four washing machines, refrigerators, four large fans, four CD music players and brand new furniture, which will be placed in the student’s dormitories; two for boys and two for girls.
The children board at the school during the school term and their dormitories become their home for most of their student life at the Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind. Several of the students have no home to go to, therefore the school is their only home, so the furniture is in desperate need of being replaced or modernized.
Many readers may be asking why donate TV’s to blind children, but many of the students do have some sight but not enough to be admitted into a regular school, and those who are totally blind enjoy listening.
Ms. Aurora, Principal of the Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind recently welcomed William Macey, PSC Golf and Charity Chairman, and Ronnie Ryan, PSC Member, who purchased the goods, valued at 185,000 baht, with proceeds from the annual PSC Golf Classic which recently took place at Green Valley Golf Course.
Across the road from the Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind is a new Vocational School for the Blind which will open this year and the PSC also donated a telephone system which will replace the present ancient system and will also link both the new Vocational School and Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind.
If that was not enough, a brand new drinking water cooler, big enough to quench the thirst of all the students, was donated, as was a water purifying system which will ensure the blind students will drink fresh and clean water.
The Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind is just one of the projects managed by the Father Ray Foundation which cares for and educates 850 abandoned, orphaned and abused children and disabled students.
