Half Million Baht Raised At Honda PTT LPGA Charity Night

Players from the Honda PTT LPGA Thailand 2010 golf tournament gathered together to auction off personal belongings and other souvenirs to raise money for the ‘Plant Trees to Help Reduce Global Warming’ project.



The event was organized by Honda, PTT and IMG and was held at the Dusit Thani Pattaya.

The highlight of the night was the auction of items belonging to  leading players Jiyai Shin, Lorena Ochoa, Paula Creamer and Michelle Wie. Lorena brought in a signed shirt and hat for auction with the starting price of 10,000 baht. The winning bidder for Lorenas’ items was Mr. Chatchai Wirattanayusin who won the fnal bidding at 50,000 baht.

Paula Creamer gave up her giant pink panther doll and put it up for auction along with a signed calendar with the starting price of 20,000 baht. The winner was no one other than the owner of Siam Country Club Mr. Persertchai Pornprapha who bid the highest at 50,000 baht.

As for Michelle Wie, she brought in clothes,a hat and golf balls in which she used during her training along with a picture of her when she won her frst LPGA golf tournament. Her goods started  at 20,000 baht and the winning bidder was Mr. Phongsakorn Korwanich from AIS with a 55,000 baht bid.

2009 champion Jiyai Shin brought in a set of golf clubs engraved with her initials along with signed gloves to be auctioned. The starting price was  20,000 baht and was won by the highest bidder with 50,000 baht, Motor Show tycoon Dr. Prajeen Aiemlunao. 

The most expensive items were the two signature LPGA golf bags that were signed by all of the players which were sold for 100,000 and 120,000 baht. 

The event was a great success in which 470,000 baht was raised. The money will be used to buy plants to be planted around Pattaya and Chonburi to help reduce global warming under the ‘Plant Trees to Help Reduce Global Warming’ project.
