2010 Declared a Year of Road Safety
Chonburi Transportation Offce Director Jirut Wisarnjit as he announced the plans that will improve road safety in Chonburi.
In an effort to reduce Chonburi's traffic injuries and deaths Chonburi Transportation Office Director Jirut Wisarnjit recently announced how road accidents will be reduced this year in accordance with Chonburi Governor Saenee Jittakasaem’s eight policies to help to improve Chonburi and Pattaya.
One of their key policies is concerned with the prevention and reduction of road accidents.
Chonburi Transportation Offce Director Jirut announced the plans, “There will be signs and posters along the main roads and community roads which will teach people about correct way of driving as well as obeying traffc rules. We will hold events and exhibitions to encourage and teach people to drive safely as well as establish a ‘Safety Corner’ at the Transportation Offce which will be an educational driving center well equipped with books and other educational material. We will also hold a parade to promote driving safety sometime this year.”
“There will also be a Driver Protection Call Center 1584 which can assist drivers with directions, locations, safety precautions or any other information a driver may need. We will persuade drivers to get their cars checked before driving especially when driving long distances. We will set up 20 car check up areas throughout Chonburi and Pattaya which offer local drivers a free check up and some car parts concerned with safety being free of charge such as lights,” added Chonburi Transportation Offce Director Jirut.
