The second Queen’s Cup Pink Polo recently held at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club was another fun-flled event that raised money for the King Chulalongkorn Hospital’s Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer. The polo match competed was between Australia and South East Asia where South East Asia won 5½ - 4.



This years event was again a success and was attended by many well known celebrities and high society elites such as M.L. Piyapat Birompakdi, Khun Paweena Hongsakul, President of the Paweena Foundation for Women and Children and her elder sister Khun Apsara Hongsakul who was Miss Universe in 1964, Dr. Kris Chatamra, Founder and Director of Queen Sirikit Center for Breast Cancer and model Sonya Couling just to name a few.

The pink themed event was organized by Khun Nunthinee Tanner, the Managing Director of LBG Co., Ltd with the purpose of raising funds to provide life saving access to care at the King Chulalongkorn Hospital’s Queen Sirikit Center for Breast Cancer research and treatment.

Ms. Nunthinee said, “The mission of the Queen’s Cup Pink Polo is to encourage public attention of women in need and create an awareness of the threat of breast cancer plus introduce to people to the game of Polo.”

Guests showed up in their best pink colored outfts to have their photos taken and published in HELLO! magazine for readers to vote for the ‘Best Dressed’ and ‘Best Hat’.

There was also a La Martina fashion show on horseback led by Thai actress Nuchsaba Boonnagun, famous model Sonya Couling, Thai actor Mavin Taweephon, ‘Aun’ Rangsit Sirananon and other talented riders.

Even though the day started off with heavy rain guests still had fun enjoying the various booths that was available. One of the most visited booths was ‘Tete-a-Porter’ selling beautiful hats. There were also booths offering free healthy drinks from ‘i-Healthi’, booths selling sport clothes ‘nsha’ and La Martina plus booths offering free Mojitos from the Holiday In.

Before the big game between Australia and South East Asia there was a kid’s polo match with players from the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club. These young riders showed off excellent polo skills and will become the great polo players in the future.

After the much awaited parade led by a pink colored Ferrari and Maserati the women’s pink polo match began with Polo players coming from all over Asia and Australia to compete for the special event.
