Pattaya City in association with all of the tourist destinations in Pattaya joined together to host the biggest Chinese New Year celebration seen in Pattaya. Welcoming the year of the tiger is very important to the Thais with Chinese ancestors living in Pattaya. Pattaya City went all out to give Thai-Chinese one of the best and biggest celebrations with a three day long festival flled with extravagant shows.

There was a dragons parade of nine colors and fun concerts at Central Festival Pattaya Beach. As for Alangkarn Theater, they gathered over 100 professional performers to entertain the crowd with a three kings’ dragon show of 82 meters long. At Mike's Shopping Mall, they also had a dragon show as well as a circus-like performance of bamboo pole climbing of more than 15 meters high. 

The atmosphere around Pattaya during the Chinese New Year was flled with smiles and people wearing red. Pattaya City organized a three day long celebration at the Bali Hai Pier where they brought performers from various parts of China such as Hubei, Heilongjiang and Zhejiang province to entertain the crowd. The highlight of the event was the Chinese Girl contest and a special concert from a famous band named ‘Bacia’ as well as popular Thai singers such as ‘Ruj’ The Star’ and a Thai rock band called ‘Clear’.

Central Festival Pattaya beach was also a hit with locals and tourists. Their shoppers got to enjoy the grand dragon parade with nine colors of 82 meters long under the concept ‘Good Luck in Wealth and Love’. They had shows that represented that various provinces of China such as Tibet, Heilongjiang and Zhejiang provinces which used more than 100 performers. They had a traditional Chinese drumming performance and for the frst time in Thailand they showed the wedding between silver and a gold tiger in Chinese style.

Not only that there was also a battle between performers from Alcazar and Tiffany in their ‘Chinese Fantasy’ themed performance. To wish their customers luck, Central Festival Pattaya Beach also gave out free lucky oranges.

As for Mike Shopping Mall, CEO of Mike Business Group, Surat Mekavarakul who also has Chinese blood celebrated Chinese New Year with a dragon parade and a special performance from a talented artist who was only fve years old. There were freworks at the end of the day as it is believed that the noise of the freworks scares away all of the bad luck and brings wealth and power to everyone for the whole year.
